Hi Everyone. Hey everyone, I'm Rachel. I am 24 from Memphis, Tennessee. I got married in July. I moved to Idaho because I got married and my husband is stationed in Mountain Home. It has definately been a big adjustment for me. I will be returning to Tennessee in January for 6 months while my husband is deployed. I'm the youngest of 4 kids. I am Italian and very proud of being Italian, like most of my family. I absolutely love children and the joy they can bring to any situation. I have a dog named Kasey who is a boxer and I love her to death, and a cat named Rocky(Balboa, yes I love the movies and the cat hits like a boxer.) I'm going to school to be a Physical Education and health teacher. I started off wanting to teach high school, but after working with high school students I think I would enjoy working with middle school or elementary aged children. I am confindent and certain that I will use spreadsheets and internet based quizzes like quizstar and other similar tools. I give quiz star and 8 out of 10 on the benefits it offers teachers. Quiz star is great, but spreadsheets help make grade keeping easier, help introduce technology to students by allowing them to input data into an organized spread sheet. Spreadsheets will help my students keep track of their daily food consumption log, to see if they've met all the categories on the food pyramid, or to help them keep track of their weekly and monthly exercise. Blogs would be helpful in a classroom because it allows an alternative way for students communicate to other students and teachers communicate with their students. It allows students to take a leadership role and help other students while providing a way to give immediate feedback. I would use blogs in my classroom as a way to help promote team work projects, and a way to keep daily journals. Here is a video that I absolutely love, it's hilarious! I wish I would have done this at my wedding in July. Enjoy everyone!

I love that wedding scene! I keep telling all of my friends that when I get married they will be expected to do something fun like that. What made you decide that you didn't want to work with high school students?
ReplyDeleteI had 8 pregnant girls in my classroom, and the kids were out of control. I think I would like to have a little more experience before I throw myself into the pool of high school students. I would love to coach high school softball or soccer though.
